Original Item: Only one available. This is an excellent service used condition M1 Garand rigid leather scabbard by Boyt Harness Company, which is dated 44 . We have seen a few of these before, but never one in this wonderful condition, with all parts intact and included. The stitching is complete, all rivets present, and the original "blacked" finish on the cocking lever guard is almost completely intact. Both securing straps present, complete with buckles and functional snap hooks. The leather itself is also quite nice, with a beautiful aged russet brown color. It's unlikely that we'll see a better one anytime soon.
These scabbards were used to attach to Jeeps, motorcycles, horses and other transportation equipment. This kept the rifle at the ready, while also keeping it well secured and protected. This fine example is marked:
